Egyptians Can Tweet Via Landline, Mobile Phone With Call2Tweet From Google and Twitter

WeseePeople like to see hear from all people, but at the moment we would love to hear from Egyptians. The Last Internet connection to the country has gone dark but the mobile and landline phones are still up.
Google and Saynow (a Google Company) together with Twitter has come with a new solution, to provide people in Egypt with capability to Tweet, just with a phone call and leaving a a voice mail. It will be tweeted with #Egypt and a link to listen to the Voicemail. Tweets could be checked out at twitter.com/speak2tweet
It will also be good if someone who knows Egyptian language, translate those messages.

I am hooked on twitblogs, an Alpha stage service for Twitter. I was reluctant to use twitter because of the limitations and the trouble I had to go through to implement links etc.
Now I can even have images attached to my Twitter posts in the twitblogs and a whole lot more.

It is the year end and search engine aggregates are rolling in. But it is surprising what people search. On this ask page, I could only find three items that "I might have searched".
On the Yahoo page I found more people that "I have searched" for. But as John Battelle says, the whole show if boring. Perhaps that is why I am still here! Looking for People that matter.

New NASDAQ Internet Index (sm) is Up For Takes

Although they announced yesterday the new NASDAQ Internet Index (sm) they seem to keep the list hidden. I gave up yesterday after searching for it. I just wanted to see if all the social networking sites are on the list.

But today I found the list, no let me say I found someone who located the list!(Trader Mike), and yes the companies I expected are there but Microsoft is not there!, 1-800 FLOWERS.COM, Inc. starts the list and Yahoo ends it! (China Fire & Security Group, Inc. is listed! may be a block and burn is an Internet access in China.) Following is the News release and now to find out how to get WeSeePeople to that list.

Tired of all the ads coming up on AIM? Is Yahoo! messenger delivering too little? Perhaps Microsoft IM (Live Messenger) not so alive and knows too much about you/ There are lots and lots of IM clients besides the ones mentioned above. Michael W. Muchmore at extremetech examines and tell you how these applications let you hook into any of these three services, and usually more besides, like Jabber.
Again not all of these applications will offer all of the features you'll find on the big guys—video and voice chat come to mind—but most of them do a good job of unobtrusively keeping you in contact with your comrades. And socially visible. So we can say weseepeople!

I was at Royal Society Philosophical Transactions of The Royal Society Biology section by a mistake. I wanted to go to the Physical Science section. Anyway I ended up reading this article;
"Bacterial conversations: talking, listening and eavesdropping. An introduction"

Natural selection operates at the level of the individual, with the retention of mutations that benefit that individual. However, current understanding from theoretical ecology suggests that the most important level of organization for a species is the population. That is, communities are more important than the individual, at least in the present day, in maintaining ecological stability. If the processes that drive evolution operate at the level of an individual, but the success is determined at the population level, then evolutionary development can only be effective if individuals are able to interact with other individuals of the same species to ensure the success of the population.

One obvious requirement for concerted action by a population is the need for an individual to be aware of and respond to other individuals of the same species that are growing in the vicinity. For many years it was considered that bacteria were simple organisms, with little capacity for the types of interaction seen in higher organisms. Heart felt sympathies to all those who lost somebody at Virginia Tech

Heart felt sympathies to all those who lost somebody at Virginia Tech.
I love the atmosphere at Virginia Tech. I have been there a few years back and never thought such horrible thing will happen in such an environment.
The trouble came in the way of 23-year-old Cho Seung-Hui, a senior in the English department at Virginia Tech, has been identified as the shooter in both the dorm and the classroom killings on campus yesterday. According to reports, he was wearing a Boy Scouts-type uniform and had in his back pack a receipt for one of the guns used in the killing spree. If guns were no so freely accessible he may have not gone this way. But he is a killer
I have no idea what drove this man do to do what he did. But a little thinking and restraint would have avoided this and all those young people would be laughing today. How ever hard it is, try to love one another!
At the same time I like the direction Wampum takes us, trying to inform and clear the mass fear and race mongering media outlets are conducting;

How to see more people that you might never see, and be a banker at the same time, it is Kiva Time!

Last week I saw a program on PBS about how people from all over the world is helping out people all over the world. By the way of Kiva.org.
Kiva is a grass roots organization that empowers people in need. Instead of just giving a pack of rice, medicine or a pack of clothes that will disappear in no time, Kiva.org is making a difference by taking a different path.
From Kiva.org's about page;
"Kiva lets you connect with and loan money to unique small businesses in the developing world. By choosing a business on Kiva.org, you can "sponsor a business" and help the world's working poor make great strides towards economic independence. Throughout the course of the loan (usually 6-12 months), you can receive email journal updates from the business you've sponsored. As loans are repaid, you get your loan money back. "
They have zero loss or unpaid loans so far. What does this say. It says that you can trust your fellow world beings.
Kiva.org (Make sure it is kiva.org, if you are at kiva.anything you are at wrong place.

I think it is a super way of weseepeople. Communities are not limited to our own little digital communities. Now these communities include farmer from Uganda, big family with dreams from Samoa, and a rice farmer from Ecuador and so on.
Perhaps it is a world of experience.
Plan to visit another country for your next vacation? try to shave off some expenses by staying in cheaper hotels or cheaper fares. Lend the money you save to a rice farmer in Ecuador, now you have a place to visit in Ecuador and a living breathing human being to meet. This person is making a life due to your trust and ability help another human being.

Wheelchair should not keep you frm doing back flips!

Aaron Fotherinham doing some pretty sweet tricks in his wheelchair. He also performs the worlds first wheelchair back flip. The most important part of this is that His parents, friends and all of us, saw the a kid, not a kid on a wheelchair. Please be kind to othe people, when we see people, the world will be a much better place.

Antonella Barba experiment at WeSeePeople has come to an end.

Antonella Barba and a lucky link I made to a fellow Blogspot blogger in my post about AB's pictures, showed somethings that I never saw before.
First it was the hits; and most of those came from poponthepop.com, because I happened to coin the title as if I was having more Photos of unfortunate Antonella on my site. Mind you I did not have a single photo of her on my site, naked or otherwise, intentionally. In the graph below, Monday visits were 11! and you see what happened afterwards.
The post was followed by some more posts mentioning AB and her day to day problems, one here, another, well another, and I finished the posting with her pussycat picture!

So Weseepeople learned that what is in most our minds. If you have dirt, they will come. But WeSeePeople was started to do something else than collecting dirt. We have something in that direction too, but not another dirty blog!
So WeSeePeople will go back to being 11 readers a day blog. But it was nice to see Blogtopsites counter showing single digits!
So see you peeps in the dirty place we are creating.

New Social game in Blogsphere

Jeff Pulver at Pulvermedia started it and it is running further than Jeff expected. Many a people are playing Blog-Tag and If you are in to social games, this is a game to play!

Networkworld gets it wrong! about Google source search.

I was searching for social networking software and information for weseepeople when I landed on of my favorite news magazines, both in print and online, Got it wrong about Googles source code search engine. At least they posted it directly from IDG without checking out the article. The article is not even a half right in my view.
Article starts off with;
"The company's new source-code search engine, unveiled Thursday as a tool to help simplify life for developers, can also be misused to search for software bugs, password information and even proprietary code that shouldn't have been posted to the Internet, security experts said Friday."

Well the ratio of hackers (crackers) to developers (real hackers) vastly out number the first and there for benefit is higher than the assumed misuse. Also before google code search ever came online, there were many other source code search engines were in use and I do not know about any of the crackers benefiting from those engines. May be they are not telling me.
Here are some sites for the editors, and the writer of the article;

Koders is another,
Ruby focused source search,
And you can build your own with this tool, remember hackers and hackers are both resourceful people.
One of the people who gave the ideas to the writer is from source code analysis company (Editor fix those links!) and if people could analyse their own code with tools like the ones above, fortify might not need to fortify any more. But a visit to site and checking out services etc, fortify will have work some time to go! ;).
The other company (another broken link) which gave the information csc, get's it right;
"Skilled hackers may already be able to do this type of search with Google's Web search engine, but Code Search is "another tool that makes it a tad easier for the attacker," says Johnny Long, a security researcher with Computer Sciences Corp"
But still misses the point about other source code search engines.
But think again, about the benefit to the developers, able to find proprietary code in open source software before being used in a project. Or to find out what crackers see before hacking an open source project.
For the record, I did search for the same phrase on all the above engines and came away with almost the same results.
The writers phrase, "this file contains proprietary," was used and on google it found one and on koders it found 9!

Welcome to Blogger beta

I just got this site setup in Google blogger beta. I first read about it on slashdot article and from there ended up reading about it at Significant Blogger Upgrade - Freshblog. From another article on freshblog I came to blogger home page. Tried to convert switch my old blogs but was denied! I said ok and I was presented with my google account login, I logged in and I was asked to create a blog. Here I am with a new idea that I had for a long time, we see people. In this material world we live in we need a place to really connect. We log in to places like myspace and forget about our real friends. Coffee shops, movie theaters, seashores (mountains for who lives far from sea). Anyway I do not have a final product but all the ground work is laid out. I will bring my ideas views on line here.
