I don't but I love the series "I hate my 30's". I watch it when even I get a chance or when I am at home when VH1 airs it. But how many times are you home and remember to watch a show. Although I have a Tivo, I do not have used it in a long time. My partner does.

Skinkers to take on Joost

According to a post on ARSTechnica, Microsoft may be challenging Joost, They even go far as saying Joost Killer, Skinkers! Might have worked, if it was named snickers! Well we got to wait and see!
Using LiveStation, PC users can watch live, uninterrupted television from the comfort of their computer chairs. Developed by a London-based company known as Skinkers using technology from Microsoft Research, LiveStation is a way to stream live television content over a peer-to-peer network and use Silverlight to display that content content on the client's system. "This product allows you to steam live television on a computer over a peer-to-peer network, which means you don't need to use all the traditional server infrastructure and bandwidth associated with streaming," said Matteo Berlucchi, co-founder of Skinkers.

IPTV service Joost moved into public beta recently, Joost also announced that it is allowing its beta testers to invite an unlimited number of friends or family to sign up and share the experience. The new Joost application is also known as "For Friends version".

Unlike before the invites are from within Joost. One can invite someone by just clicking on the "My Joost" widget, and there you will see the "Invite Friends" app.

We betat testers saw our share of advertisements on Joost, the company also said that all of it's advertisements all across your IPTV shows. So far they are very unintrusive and do make an impact, because you can notice the advertisements.

Last Chance to apply for JOOST beta

I know a lot of people have been hunting for invitations to Joost. But one could also apply directly at Joost site. Now I hear that Joost is closing the applications soon. There after you can only get invited by Joost beta testers like me ;). And of course I have to choose whom I invite. So please follow the links to apply at Joost site.

The New MTV over IPTV, over Joost

I have been beta testing Joost for a while now and learning more about it. More I watch it, more I like it. It is a difference from watching tiny teeny videos on youtube. I can watch full screen video on my 17" notebook screen and no lags and not grany. I have seen wide screen videos but they were not HD.
With the new release of software they also added some more channels. Here are some press info on the Viacom Joost deal that has youtube sweating.

With Joost juicing and our bandwidths spared every Joost post is an important one. There might be many IPTV apps coming up but I am sure that Joost will do better in IPTV space than Skype did in the VoIP space.

Time for Joosting, at Joost

Niklas Zennström and Janus Friis, who were also behind popular peer-to-peer music-sharing site Kazaa, and also very popular Skype VoIP service, last week unveiled their much-anticipated Internet television service Joost—as in “juiced.”
Joosting is to get juiced and so far, the service is super. I see a great future for Joost in video delivery. I have been very pleased with the service so far. I have even added the official logo to the left column.

This is an excellent article that anyone interested in social networking, folksnomy must read. If you don't know folksnomy from a folksong, like my dictionary then it is great introduction to folksnomy as well. The article, some content that I do not agree has gems of paragraphs like;

That get your thinking cap's propeller turning. I enjoyed the article. Also knowing that Technorati has 21 million blogs to track and about 3 million tags, I happy to know that I introduced my own tags. Like the latest, Joosting, watching videos through Joost. Joosting is a common name in western Europe (The Netherlands, Belgium) but Now I have tagged it to communications through this article in VoIP IP Telephony.
