Joost lets friends invite friends, come get more Joost Invites!

Joostâ„¢ the best of tv and the internet

Leave a comment if you need an invite, every one might get one!
IPTV service Joost moved into public beta recently, Joost also announced that it is allowing its beta testers to invite an unlimited number of friends or family to sign up and share the experience. The new Joost application is also known as "For Friends version".

Unlike before the invites are from within Joost. One can invite someone by just clicking on the "My Joost" widget, and there you will see the "Invite Friends" app.

We betat testers saw our share of advertisements on Joost, the company also said that all of it's advertisements all across your IPTV shows. So far they are very unintrusive and do make an impact, because you can notice the advertisements.

Metacafe is serving videos now!

Seems to be doing a pretty good job of it. I liked the first video I saw! Don't go hunting ghosts if you are not ready for it!

The New MTV over IPTV, over Joost

I have been beta testing Joost for a while now and learning more about it. More I watch it, more I like it. It is a difference from watching tiny teeny videos on youtube. I can watch full screen video on my 17" notebook screen and no lags and not grany. I have seen wide screen videos but they were not HD.
With the new release of software they also added some more channels. Here are some press info on the Viacom Joost deal that has youtube sweating.

Janus Friis, founder of Joost said, “We built this platform from the ground up, with companies like Viacom in mind. Our platform provides scalable distribution, in a completely safe environment that protects the interest of content owners and advertisers, while delighting viewers. We’re extremely excited about this partnership and look forward to enabling Viacom to reach new audiences for its new and classic programming.”

MTV Networks will provide premier content from several of its brands for launch. MTV will offer popular shows, both past and present, including Laguna Beach, Beavis & Butthead, Real World, Punk’d and My Super Sweet Sixteen, while COMEDY CENTRAL will feature episodes from Stella, CCP’s and Freak Show. Nickelodeon, CMT: Country Music Television, MTV2, Logo, Spike TV, mtvU, and Gametrailers.com will also provide content. VH1’s offerings will include episodes of Flavor of Love, Surreal Life, and I Love New York. BET’s Networks’ offerings will include some of its biggest shows, including Beef, DMX: Soul of a Man, Comic View and recent smash hit American Gangster. Also, Paramount Pictures, Paramount Vantage and Paramount Classics will be providing full-length feature films from its catalog of classics and recent releases.

VOIP IP Telephony: New Joost applications (Mac and PC) out.

With Joost juicing and our bandwidths spared every Joost post is an important one. There might be many IPTV apps coming up but I am sure that Joost will do better in IPTV space than Skype did in the VoIP space.
